From angioplasty to open-heart surgery and cardiac rehab, the experienced staff at the Memorial Heart Institute has more experience helping people with heart problems than any other hospital in Volusia
or Flagler counties.
Two decades of experience in providing the most advanced level of cardiac care in this area has enabled us to fine-tune our skills and maintain the optimum level of proficiency you deserve. Since introducing open-heart surgery to the area in 1980, our surgeons and professional staff have performed more than 10,000 Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts - with excellent results. Each year, our hospital perform about 500 open-heart surgeries, 100 balloon angioplasties, 2,500 cardiac catheterizations and 600 coronary stent implantations.
Cardiac Nursing Care
The critical care units of our two hospitals are committed to provide the highest quality of cardiac care possible. Our critical care registered nurses provide skilled nursing care and constant cardiac monitoring. They work closely with Memorial Heart Institute physicians, who carefully plan each patient's care.

8-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - (CVICU)
19-bed Concentrated Cardiac Care Unit - (CCC)
8-bed cardiac intervention unit - (CIU)
