The BirthCare Center at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial (386) 676-6262 (MAMA)

The BirthCare Center at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial is a better place, and a better way, to have a baby. We treat having a baby like the blessed event it is. From the moment you arrive until you go home, you'll stay in a private room that's more like your bedroom than a hospital room. Each room is attractively decorated in soothing colors and accented by home like furniture and hardwood floors. Labor and delivery take place in privacy and comfort, care is provided for you and your baby in the same room afterward.

Our philosophy of care

The BirthCare Center's mission is to provide quality, family-centered care in a nurturing, safe environment. We provide a choice, flexibility and education to support families throughout the birth experience and beyond.

Our dedication to quality

Our staff is dedicated to providing you and your family with quality care. The BirthCare Center is the only facility in Central Florida providing high-level infant security technology, incorporating the latest innovations in mother-baby care and safety.

Lactation Counselor

Our specially certified lactation counselor nurse provides education and support to breastfeeding mothers. The job of the lactation consultant is to enhance the breastfeeding relationship with your new baby. Additionally, all of our staff nurses have received specialized training in breastfeeding and are able to provide individualized care to mother and baby.

Birthing Suites

Our birthing suites provide a warm, comfortable atmosphere for welcoming your new baby. Each room features state-of-the-art equipment and safety technology for the entire birth process, recovery period and postpartum stay. The BirthCare Center is the only facility in Volusia and Flagler counties using the "single-room maternity care" model.

Newborn care

We are dedicated to caring for mother and baby. A highly trained and specialized registered nurse cares for the mother-baby throughout the postpartum stay. Our rooms are equipped to handle unexpected emergencies. Our methods for newborn care meet or exceed recognized standards. We encourage family participation and even have special sinks in each room for your baby's first bath. If special medical needs arise, your baby may be transferred to our nursery, which is equipped for critical care and stabilization.

Family visitation

We encourage you to discuss your particular desire for visitation with your family and friends. The BirthCare Center is designed to meet the comfort needs of those close to you. We will assist you in carrying out your birth plan whenever possible, but request that you let us know your needs ahead of time. Big brothers and sisters and other family members are welcomed visitors at our BirthCare Center.
